“GLOBE” - Graffiti Art Canvas

h1 Saturday, October 29th, 2005

Last year my brother asked me to do a for his apartment. This was the first real art style painting I had done in 6 years or so. And it was the first in this series of canvases I’ve done in the past year. I started this sometime in November 2004, and I finished it on Christmas Eve and gave it to him Christmas Day.

Wilma was too close for comfort - Hurricane tracker

All these hurricanes have been making me a little nervous. My grandmother lives right near Naples, FL, right where hit Florida. Its a good thing she evacuated to Jacksonville. I hope there isn’t too much damage when she gets back.

Here is a great tool to see the paths of the hurricanes…

Learning Spanish - Verbix (Great Tool)

h1 Thursday, October 20th, 2005

I hope to speak Spanish fluently one day…
I have taken a few Spanish classes. And I know I could make alot of progress learning if I just memorize words and memorize the conjugation structure.

Here is a great tool for conjugations…
Verbix
This is a very good tool that will give you all the conjugations for a word or verb in Spanish (I think it does other languages too)

h1 Saturday, October 8th, 2005

This canvas was done some time earlier this year. I plan to write about every image in my gallery. Giving background information as to the reason and inspiration for its creation.

art was my primary motivation for learning about and making . Since my teen years, I have developed an appreciation for many styles of traditional art. I am now ambitious to pursue oil, acrylic, and other traditional mediums. I have also learned something about making and I tremendously enjoyed it (I hope to get into making ceramics again in the future).

AJAX - A good method for web apps

h1 Friday, October 7th, 2005

is a method of creating more desktop-like web applications. In the future (and even now), many websites/ web applications will act more and more like desktop applications. Google maps is a good example of this… (search for more ). More and more you will see websites that rival the functionality of desktop applications. This is good, its quick and “on demand” distribution of your application. No need to download and install the application to your hard disk to get the functionality you need. All thats required is a powerful enough computer and an Internet connection. It is a typical thin client (meaning the browser) / server model. Ajax helps balance the processing load between the client and server efficiently. You have the speed of processing locally and the large data store of information via the server.
I found the .NET libraries and I look forward to seeing what I can do with this!
