Just announcing another sub site to mrjmw.com . Which is the micro mrjmw blog ( http://micro.mrjmw.com ), it is basically some of my del.icio.us links with a few comments about the link. Hope you enjoy!
(also, I have some ideas about retiring this site and using mrjmw.com just to link to all my other sites. I will start over then with a personal blog I think)

A minute ago, I wrote a post explaining and introducing http://places-to-go.us . Well somehow Wordpress created three of my new posts and managed to created three of the previous latest post. I tried to delete two of each so I would be left with only one of each. BUT what happened instead is that it erase (all three) of the post I just did.
Anyway, check out the above site, it’s my latest project. And know that this is all messed up and I’ll get around to fixing it up sooner or later but it’s not a priority of mine at the moment
Peace!

When I first started this site I put some of my graffiti art canvas pictures on it and some interesting things started happening.
First, I misspelled Graffiti with “graffit” and that seemed to actually be a good thing. Google picked up my pics as “graffit” and I was on the first page of google images for “graffit” or “graffit art” for a while. Only after I fixed the spelling mistake did I eventually get removed from the first “graffit” images page.
Second, some of the people that found my work started hot linking images of my canvases on there myspace page as backgrounds. I didn’t like this at first because I wanted my site here (mrjmw.com) to get credit for being the source of those pictures. So I put a watermark on them with my sites name, and soon, they stopped hotlinking.
As you can see I’ve basically abandoned mrjmw.com for the time being. But considering the above, I’ve decided to target graffit and encourage the hotlinking of my images. Hopefully, I’ll see some more traffic from the graffit keyword. And to encourage people to hotlink my images I’ve set up a small portifolio page at mrjmw.com/art . From there you can access all of my graffiti canvas images and sketches etc. I will have no watermarks on these images, only the one of my name/logo “JMW” if it is not already in the painting itself.
Now I’m not trying to promote this website as much (take a look and you can see why lol) but I’m trying to promote my name as an artist. Also, I’m not really going to try to promote agressively. I’m really just wanting to have fun creating some art and have a somewhat organized place on the web where I can share it with others.
I have been blogging a little at photoblog.mrjmw.com and I hope to do more of that when I get the chance.
Peace everyone!

I started a PhotoBlog today. I do plan to keep that up to date. This blog is a lost cause for now. I’ll fix it up eventually I suppose. But for now (for lac of a better name) the temporary/possibly-permanent name of my new photoblog is John has a PhotoBlog. Check it out when you get a chance.

I was too!
I went to a few different tutorials (Tutorial 1 , Tutorial 2) on how to set it up for an intranet environment, but I couldn’t get it to work.
It seemed like it wasn’t working because IIS wasn’t properly authenticating the user. But when I went to my IIS settings everything was right according to the tutorials…
(Like this…)

Everything was right! But still no luck.
To make a long story short, I found this article and it did the trick…
Forcing NTLM Authentication (IIS 6.0)
Now I can enjoy Windows Authentication in ASP.NET for my Intranet Web App!

CDATA Sections
When dealing with XML and transforming it into HTML with XSLT, the CDATA sections are really good to know about. CDATA section basically says "don't parse this section" -JMW Nov 17, 2006

I’m looking for a project and I’ve been meaning to make a WordPress plugin and make it available to the community for a while. But I need some ideas. I want to make a great and useful plugin.
Go ahead and leave any ideas in the comments. I can’t promise I’ll do it but if I find the right one I’ll do it.

Ok. I’m going to upgrade to WordPress 2.o.5 from version 1.5.1.3
So if some things break, well… I’ll fix them someday (soon hopefully)
